Hattiesburg, Mississippi Julia Ross Thompson 1935 — 2023 Julia Ross Thompson, 88, of Hattiesburg, MS, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at her home. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Mrs. Thompson earned her Master's Degree in 1964 in Special Education. She was considered an excellent school teacher, having taught in Wisconsin and Florida. She was a very spiritual woman and loved her family. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Tom Trbuza. Sumter, South Carolina Thomas David Simenson 2023 — 2023 LtCol Thomas David "Dave" Simenson, USAF retired, 89, husband of Joan Nancy Ramstad Simenson, died Monday, July 24, 2023, at the Sumter Grove. Born May 14, 1934, in Superior, WI, he was a son of the late Clarence Simenson and the late Margaret Lund Simenson. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after more than 21 years of service and was a Korean War and Vietnam War veteran. He was a member of Swan Lake Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and member of the church session. Mr. Simenson was an active member of the Sumter Family YMCA for many years.
